Finding a Place of Peace

Christmas is such an interesting time for all of us. It tends to be a bit frantic, with all the running around to get the tree, buying the presents, decorating the house, going to the social gatherings, wrapping the presents; not to mention continuing on with life as usual - working, taking care of our families, and on and on it goes.

Then, before you know it, the holiday is all over and it's time to take down the decorations, return the presents that don't fit because of all the food we ate, recycle the tree, dispose of all the wrappings, then take a deep breath, because now, there are 364 more shopping days until Christmas.

AS I thought about all of this, I remembered a picture (see below) that had been sent to me not too long ago, and I was reminded that we can find a place of peace at any moment, if we will just take the time to be still. We don't need to wait for Sunday. We don't need to wait until we can steal a quiet moment. We can simply refocus our thoughts and feel the peace and the presence of God within us at any moment and within any circumstance.

So this holiday season, if you start to feel overwhelmed with all there is to do, just stop for a moment and find that place of peace, and as you do, you will find your day and your holiday will be a little brighter.

So this week, let's let our prayer be: "Father/Mother God, let the peace that passes all understanding flow through me now and let me be a place of peace and renewal for others."

As we affirm: "This moment, I am peace."

Blessings...Rev. Bev.
